Smiddy Challenge 2012

Fundraising
Our collective goal is to raise $750,000 across Smiling for Smiddy events in 2012. We've seen a great start to fundraising already this year and I want to thank all those that have commenced their fundraising effort. If you wish to develop a fundraising plan but not sure where to start please drop me a reply email and we can arrange a time to talk over the phone about getting started. With your online fundraising page now live it's important to start with those closest to you - family and good friends who will set the tone for your donations.

Beneficiary projects
Stay tuned for more information on research projects funded through Smiling for Smiddy. Your efforts support research into our most common men's and women's cancers including prostate cancer, melanoma and ovarian cancer. Your donors may wish to hear more information about the projects being supported. Should you require an overview of the research being funded to support a fundraising activity or event please let me know.

Do you know a possible Smiddy rider?
Spots remain for the Midi Smiddy (1-3 June) and Half Smiddy Challenge (2-6 May). It would be appreciated if you could let your cycling mates or cycling group know about these great events. You can view the event flyers for the Midi-Smiddy and Half-Smiddy challenge events here.

Training camp
Australia's most successful Paralympian Michael Milton is hosting a training camp for Smiddy riders over the Easter weekend in Jindabyne. It will be great preparation for your Smiddy event. Cost for the trip will be approximately $450 which includes three night's accommodation, transfers, food and supported training rides for four days. You will need to obtain your own return airfare to Canberra. It will be a tough, picturesque weekend of close to 500 kilometres of spectacular riding. Please let me know ASAP if you are interested and I will send you further information. I will be attending so it would be great to see you there!
